Educare hosted Kinder Camp is an annual tradition at SCC. It provides our incoming kinders a chance to get a jump start on their 9-year journey at San Carlos Charter. The first day at a new school with K-8 learners can be very overwhelming for little minds, but we use our after school expertise to create a week of activities and games to get everyone excited for the new school year! We work closely with the K/1 team to group our campers with other classmates so they can count on seeing a few familiar faces on the first day of school. Learners will have an opportunity to explore their new campus and learn some new routines that are sure to come in handy as they settle into kindergarten. Our Kinder Camp will run almost entirely outdoors (weather permitting), taking advantage of all that our unique campus has to offer. Activities will include art projects, games, creative play, outdoor free choice and more!

Educare programs follow CDC, state and county guidelines around child care/day camps. Many of these guidelines overlap with the 4 Pillars that SCC is required to adhere to for school reopening. Masks will be required for all learners and staff. Learners will need to bring their own snack, lunch and refillable water bottle. Educare is not able to provide any food at this time. All communal water fountains will be unavailable. Water bottle filling stations may be used. Social distancing and increased hand washing will be practiced. Learners will be assigned a “home pod” of no more than 12 learners with designated staff members. Because our camp will operate almost entirely outdoors, there will be opportunities to safely interact with other pods at a distance. Should we need to move indoors for any reason, pods will not combine with other pods. Pods will be formed based on classroom educators.
